Dr Ravinder Sohal

Dr Ravinder Sohal’s career managing severe and complex psychiatry cases spans over 20 years. During this time, he has gained extensive experience in cases with significant comorbidities, such as ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders. His wide range of experience working as a psychiatrist has helped him gain a deep understanding of complex mental health disorders in adults.

He has a keen interest in ADHD, specifically in adults, and has been gaining experience in assessing, diagnosing, and managing this condition since 2009. He has worked as a psychiatrist in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and now Australia, with experience in both public and private hospitals, community-based clinics, and forensic settings.

Dr Sohal has worked at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital since 2014 as a senior staff psychiatrist in multiple roles, including as a supervisor for mental health interns, a senior clinical lecturer for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Queensland, and as an accredited supervisor for psychiatry registrars.

As a highly experienced psychiatrist, Dr Ravi Sohal aims to use his extensive psychiatry experience to support and guide patients in need towards a better life. He understands how difficult it can be for people to access psychiatry services and has worked in telehealth in both public and private health settings.
By offering specialist telehealth consults, he provides access with greater convenience and flexibility while reducing the anxiety that many people have surrounding in-person clinical appointments.
