Iris Waite

Iris Waite is a Clinical Psychologist with a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Bond University. She provides compassionate, collaborative and evidence-based care tailored to each person’s needs and goals.

A significant part of her practice is assessing Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults. Her assessments are comprehensive, including clinical interviews, psychometric measures, developmental history and collateral information to provide thorough diagnostic evaluations. She is passionate in helping clients understand how ADHD may influence their daily lives, relationships, work and wellbeing, with practical recommendations to support long-term day-to-day life and the quality of it.

Iris also conducts Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and cognitive assessments, providing diagnostic evaluations and helping clients understand their strengths, challenges and support needs.

Her experience spans public and private mental health settings. She has worked in a private psychiatric hospital supporting people with acute and complex mental health presentations. She has also worked in an after-hours Mental Health Safe Space in partnership with Gold Coast Health, supporting people experiencing psychological distress and mental health crises. In private practice, she works with adults presenting with a broad range of psychological concerns.

Dr Iris Waite

Her professional interests include neurodivergence, forensic and complex clinical presentations, trauma, and addictive coping behaviours linked to chronic stress and adversity. She also has a strong interest in women’s mental health, particularly matrescence and the psychological changes associated with evolving identities, relationships and life roles.

Iris is undertaking further training in Schema Therapy and risk assessment protocols and remains committed to ethical, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development. She is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI), is fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin.
